Ladies and Gentlemen:

Judging by the heat and humidity levels just in time for Memorial Day Weekend, SUMMER IS HERE !

Put August 18 Saturday on your calendars. This year's Fowlfest will be returning to my QTH's backyard knoll...in the 
antenna farm under the shade of the cherry trees...at W3NRJ (formerly W6NRJ) in Darnestown, MD, just two miles from 
Gaithersburg and 9 miles from I270. 15301 Turkey Foot Road Gaithersburg (or Darnestown MD) 20878.


WE HOPE TO GET NEW ATTENDEES THIS YEAR TO JOIN THE PREVIOUS LONG-TIME FOWLFEST CHAT AND CHEWERS.


This is also first call for VOLUNTEERS to help procure the items, set up, cook the chicken, serve, and return tables, 
chairs and grills. This year I have been working on building tables plus finding a FREE source of grill, tables and 
folding chairs. The items will be FREE to the clubs IF we have volunteers to help return chairs and grills to the 
Rockville location right at the RT. 28 and I 270 interchange 9 miles from my house. (Members with pickups MIGHT be 
needed if I can not borrow the truck owned by the source for tables and chairs.)


Note to procrastinators: those first to respond with confirmations will get to use eating tables, to the extent of what 
we can pull together, by having table reservations. Others will need to bring lawn chairs and lap trays. When I get a 
feel for the number of attendees, we will try our best to get sufficient tables and chairs for all ...AGAIN if we get 
clean up, drop off and unload volunteers. Getting tables for all as a goal is in response to some comments (grumbles?) 
about the need to bring sitting chairs and TV trays previously at the W3NRJ QTH. Hopefully, the attendance will go up 
with the tables/chairs provided..


Note that Aug 19 will be the rain date. However, if we set the hours from 11:30 -- 2:30 this year we may just beat the 
typical summer late afternoon storms.


Respond to this email and copy the Reflector to show all you plan to attend. (2nd notice will be at the W3LPL Open
