Good Evening Gentlement:
Just over a year ago at the W3AO Field Day event with PVRC Members and Ray Novak from ICOM, I had a teacher (Bev Matheson) who was visiting her friend in the Washington DC area, come to the Field Day to learn more about ham radio. You guys did such a great job, the Teacher went on to get her Technician License and will be taking her General License test next week.

Last week while in Southern California on business, I stopped by the DGES 4th Grade Class and assisted Bev in demonstrating ham radio to her kids on Oct. 16 & 22, 2012. It was a very big hit.

It looks like the school is going to allow a ham radio club to be started with a dedicated area for the station.

We have the ICOM radio and vertical antenna plus plan to purchased a beam antenna and rotator to be mounted on the school's roof very soon.

If you look close, you can see photos of Ray Novak and Richard Boyd (KE3Q) on the cover of the classrooms home made QSO Logbook that were taken during the W3AO Field Day event.
