Fellow NCDXA members,

K3CCR is a first-rate multi-two ham station at Collington, a first-rate retirement community just east of the Beltway near both New Carrolton and Largo Town Center metro stations.

In July with the support of Collington management we put up an 85-foot tower with a Skyhawk beam on a hilltop. We have two DX- and contest-quality operating positions. Go to K3CCR on qrz.com for details, or read the article about us in the October PVRC Newsletter, available at www.pvrc.org The article by Grant W3GB on p. 70 of the Jan. 2013 QST has the story of the beginnings of the ham club here.

Tuesday Nov. 4 at 11 AM there is a complementary luncheon at Collington, with a tour of the station and a no-obligation informational presentation. A mailer has gone out to many local hams, but the list and the timing of such mailings are always uncertain: you may or may not get one.

Mailer or not: if you might be interested in continuing serious ham radio after moving to a retirement community, or know someone who might be, or would simply be interested in seeing our station, please RSVP and come to the 11/4 event.

RSVP by Fri. Oct. 31 to 1 800 951 5670, or send an email to tmosley at collington.kendal.org. Or, you can check out the community at www.collington.kendal.org , click on Events and then on the RSVP button for the 11/4 event. I and the rest of the K3CCR crew would be pleased to see you.

73, Ben N3UM
