Ladies and gents ...


The annual summer FowlFest is scheduled for August 29, Saturday from 11:30 until 3:00.  



PLEASE NOTE THAT THE RAIN DATE THIS YEAR WILL BE SEPTEMBER 19, SATURDAY, NOT AUGUST 20.   The place for the event will again be the QTH of W3NRJ in Darnestown, MD, 2 miles outside of Gaithersburg off Rt. 28 at 15301 Turkey Foot Rd. 20878.  


FIRST WARNING:  Darnestown is among the many, many Montgomery County camera speed traps.  $40 if you are photographed.


This year please announce your intent to attend with your name, call, and that of your spouse, significant other, or guest VIA THE REFLECTOR.  USE THE SUBJECT LINE "ATTENDING FOWLFEST" so your ham club friends can note that you plan to attend.  (I will nab the return notes off the reflector and keep a count of attendees for planning purposes.)

Subsequent notes will cover the subject of food and beverages.  Note that this year master chef Todd, WB2ZAB, is planning the main course and most side dishes.  Additional food contributions will be covered in the next note.  Beer, water, and soda pop will be provided by the club or pre-arranged contributors.  We will have a 'feed the kitty" box to enable less of a dent in the club treasury.

And as usual, as a strong advocate for continuing the Fowlfest, Lead Consultant Bud, W3LL, is involved with counsel and guidance. (Bud, please forward this note to all interested parties you feel should receive this announcement and who you know will/may not receive this note off the PVRC Reflector....tnx.)


I have made extra tables for this year (you bring your folding chair or chairs) so let's see if we can reach the 60 mark in attendance.  Besides the "chat and chew" of the lunch, there will be an after-lunch tour of the W3NRJ all wire--all gain antenna farm again this year.  CU AT THE FOWLFEST  !
