Fellow members of NCDXA:

Once again this year Frank Donovan, W3LPL has generously agreed to host our
June NCDXA meeting during his Open House. This year it takes place on
Saturday, June 17. Folks begin arriving at noon and the last stragglers
are usually leaving around 4 PM. Because PVRC and W3AO FD Planning
meetings are also taking place at the event, the exact time for our formal
meeting will be coordinated with those groups, so the exact time for our
meeting will be announced as we are already there.

Sadly, only a few days after last year's event, a tornado blew through
Frank's neighborhood and downed one of his towers as well as destroying the
grove of trees that we had become accustomed to sitting under in recent
years. However, the trees alongside Frank's driveway were undamaged so it
is suggested that we find our shelter from the sun there instead.

This is a family affair so spouses, significant others and kids are
welcome. Please remember to bring along a folding chair for each person
attending. A cap or hat is also advised. Refreshments and snacks are
provided, and a local restaurant will have its portable facilities on hand
so that a barbecue type lunch can be purchased. Please park within the
area bounded by the tape.

The event is located at 3055 Hobbs Rd, Glenwood, MD. It is just a couple
of miles south
of the intersection of I-70 with Maryland Route 97. From the west come
through Frederick
east on I-70, from the north and east from Baltimore west on I-70, from DC
the fastest
route is via I-95 north to Maryland 32, though for some Maryland 97 north
may be more
direct. Use your GPS device or Google Maps when you get close. When you
see what looks
like an AM broadcaster's antenna array you are there.

Looking forward to seeing you there.

73, Fred Laun, K3ZO
President, NCDXA
