Fellow NCDXA members:
I just got off the phone with Don Search, W3AZD, and he and Hope Smith,
WB3ANE are fine. The only damage at their place was that their HF vertical
blew down in the storm, but anyway he had a new one that he was planning on
replacing it with anyway.
Just after the storm Don and Hope were very involved in post-disaster
communications for about five days running, connecting their area to the
county EOC via 2 meters. In fact I plan to have Don be the program for our
October 21 meeting if the business meeting wraps up in time, so that we can
all learn a thing or two about how ham radio played its part in the
aftermath of the hurricane.
Looking forward to seeing all of you then.
