At our meeting Saturday I mentioned the story about how FCC Chief Engineer
and NCDXA member Ray Spence W4QAW eliminated the ITU banned list for US
hams, on the condition that when we opened up XV5AC on the first day after
the banned list had been eliminated, we had to work some NCDXA members
before we could work anybody else. The late Don Riebhoff, K7CBZ and I
were in the XV5AC shack on that fateful day as USA hams lined up to work
Viet Nam now that it was off the "banned list".
I have now discovered that there is a scan on-line of the first XV5AC
logbook page, so you can see for yourselves who the NCDXA members involved
were. It's at http://hamgallery.com/gallery/S/xv5ac_logs.htm
