Hello everyone,
My preference is Clipperton, and then Juan Fernandez. My reason is that there was a recent Juan Fernandez DXpedition about 4-5 years ago that I worked just after I got active in my new QTH.
I fired up my 100 watt Kenwood and the 80-meter G5RV antenna to make a few QSOs. I heard a pileup, so I jumped in a made some easy QSOs. I wanted to try the G5RV on 160 by shorting the twin-lead feeder line. Did that and worked Juan. In looking back, I was just lucky in getting the QSOs.

YES, and thank you, Phil. I have been concerned about the Scarborough operation since it was announced. The picture of the ‘location’ gave promise that this might be something vastly different from what we think of when Scarborough is considered. I’m fairly certain that is a more ‘wished for’ entity.
Mike, etc., did a very fine job in researching these options. While any serious DXer of any ambition probably has Clippperton well covered (I’m an honorary member of the Clipperton DX Club), there are probably enough new DXers who need that entity with the new digital modes and maybe even some 6M openings.
I will cast my ‘vote’ with Mike in favor of (1st) Juan Fernandez and (2nd) Clipperton.
Thank y’all for the serious consideration of these options. 73, Vic W4VIC

To all those recommending Scarborough Reef, please look at Bernie McClenny's, (W3UR), information in his above email. from his information, that "DX0" operation would not pass muster with the DXAC.

Please do not allow funds for DX0NES as it will not count for Scarborough Reef! It must have a Chinese callsign.

To all members.
Led by Mike Cresap, W3IP , and reviewed and approved by the directors, we have an initial 2024 list of DXpeditions that are being identified for support from NCDXA. We have provided a complete list of all upcoming DXpeditions that were considered. Please look at the attached document and 1) let us know if there are agreements/disagreements with those being recommended for support and 2) If there are any other DXpeditions that we have missed.
Please respond before 12/15/23. The monetary support is enabled by your dues, so you all have a say in its use.
Thank you, 73 and Happy Holidays to you all.
