<div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div class="gmail_default" style="font-size:large">Fellow members of NCDXA:<br><br>Our regular October meeting will take place this Saturday, from 1:30 to 3:30 PM, at the <br>Private Dining Room (PDR) of the Ellipse Restaurant, Fairview Park Marriott Hotel,<br>3111 Fairview Park Drive, Falls Church, VA.  After having three straight meetings in<br>Maryland, we are returning to Virginia for this one.  Detailed directions to the<br>hotel follow below.   Based on a desire expressed by several members to have<br>the meetings take place around mid-day rather than later in the afternoon,<br>please note the 1:30 pm starting time.   <br><br>I apologize for taking so long to make a detailed announcement about our meeting.<br>I have been involved in getting my low noise 160 meter Waller Flag antenna installed<br>and that has been a bit of a distraction for me.<br><br>The October meeting is traditionally the meeting where dues for the coming year are<br>requested. Dues are currently $30 per year.   <br><br>The October meeting is also the meeting at which officer elections are traditionally<br>held.  According to our by-laws, the two-year terms of our officers are staggered.  Our current<br>Vice-President, John Kanode N4MM, and our current Treasurer, Phil Barsky, K3EW were<br>elected in October, 2017 so their terms of office will be up in October of 2019.<br>Our current President, (myself) Fred Laun, K3ZO and our current Secretary, Terry Hines,<br>N4ZH were elected in October of 2016, so our terms are up this month.   Please come<br>prepared with any nominations you wish to make for these two offices.<br><br>I look forward to seeing you all on Saturday.<br><br>73, Fred Laun, K3ZO<br>President<br><br>------------------------------------------------------------------------<br><br>Directions to the Fairview Park Marriott:<br><br>Driving directions to the meeting follow.  Drinks and dinner can be ordered from<br>the hotel at the meeting.<br><br>-------------------------------------------------------------------------<br><br>From the Beltway I-495: Exit the Beltway at EXIT 50-B, marked Route 50 East,<br>ARLINGTON.<br><br>Follow sign marked FAIRVIEW PARK SOUTH. You will swerve around to your right.<br><br>After the overhead traffic lights move over into the left lane.<br><br>The SECOND LEFT TURN possible (left turn lane here) will take you immediately to<br>the front door of the Hotel. Plentiful complementary parking is in covered<br>garage and outdoor lots. Handicapped parking is to the right of the front door<br>of the hotel.<br><br><br>From the District of Columbia:<br><br>Take Route 50 West, Arlington Boulevard toward FAIRFAX.<br><br>Just before the Beltway I-95, exit to the right where marked FAIRVIEW PARK. Do<br>not get on the Beltway here. At the top of the exit ramp swerve off to the LEFT.<br>The sign there is “FAIRVIEW PARK S” meaning “Fairview Park South.”<br><br>You are now on Fairview Park Drive. Move into the LEFT LANE.<br><br>The SECOND LEFT TURN possible (left turn lane here) will take you immediately to<br>the front of the Hotel.<br><br><br>Complementary parking is in covered garage and outdoor lots. Handicapped parking<br>is to the right of the front door of the hotel.  Assuming that you enter the<br>front door of the hotel, turn right immediately after you enter. Proceed down<br>the corridor. The telephones and RESTROOMS are on your right immediately after<br>the Gift Shop. Pass the first canopy on your left (Club Lounge cocktail bar) and<br>continue to The Ellipse entrance on your left.<br><br>From the covered parking garage: Take the elevator to "L" (Lobby) level Take a<br>right out of the elevator and follow through two sets of doors. The Ellipse<br>Restaurant will be on your right just after you pass through the second set of<br>doors.<br><br>               <br></div></div></div>
