<div dir="ltr"><div class="gmail_default" style="font-size:large">Fellow Members of NCDXA.</div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-size:large"><br></div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-size:large">Herewith please find the minutes of the regular NCDXA December meeting:</div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-size:large"><br></div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-size:large">NATIONAL CAPITOL DX ASSOCIATION<br>MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING, WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 17, 2020<br><br>President Fred Laun, K3ZO called the meeting to order at 7:07 PM EST.<br>This was in effect the Christmas Party meeting of NCDXA, but given<br>the Covid-19 Pandemic, the meeting was held online via ZOOM.<br><br>Present were the following members, who introduced themselves in turn:<br><br>Fred Laun, K3ZO<br>Phil Barsky, K3EW, Treasurer<br>Ed Kuebert, K5EK<br>Bud Governale, W3LL<br>Tom Molyneaux, KE3GK<br>Jim Locke, W3NRJ<br><br>The minutes from the October meeting of NCDXA were not immediately available<br>so the next item on the agenda was the Treasurer's report, given by K3EW.<br>Phil reported that given the recent receipt of annual dues by members, the<br>club treasury had climbed to over $4,000.  There were still nine members<br>who had not renewed for 2021, and President K3ZO had promised to check <br>with each one to see whether they wished to continue as members.  K3ZO<br>reported that he had not yet done so but would take care of the matter.<br><br>KE3GK reported that he had sent membership certificates online to all<br>members who were currently paid up to date, for which he was thanked by<br>those of us in attendance.   K3EW reported that the remaining stock<br>of blank traditional oversize<br>NCDXA paper certificates had been sent to K3ZO by W2GPS, who had been <br>holding them because he had been in charge of printing them for the past<br>several years.  The traditional paper certificates had not been sent to<br>members annually, but only at the time they had initially joined <br>NCDXA.  K3ZO reported that he had those certificates in hand, including<br>one already made out to K3RON, which he would take care to mail to him.<br>KE3GK said that he also had the capability to print these paper certificates<br>should that be desired.  <br><br>Treasurer K3EW took the opportunity to announce that beginning on Wednesday,<br>December 24, 2020 and each Wednesday thereafter, NCDXA would host a ZOOM<br>session online at 7:00 PM with the latest information on DX related topics.<br>K3EW reported that Frank Donovan, W3LPL had asked whether non-NCDXA members<br>could join these sessions, and the consensus of those present was that as<br>far as outside participants were concerned, "the more the merrier." So<br>K3EW said that he would make an appropriate announcement on the reflector<br>of the Potomac Valley Radio Club (PVRC) as well.<br><br>K5EK said that he would also announce these sessions to the membership of<br>the Carolina DX Association.   KE3GK added that he would also announce<br>the sessions to his local DX group. <br><br>A brief discussion followed about recent DX and DX contest happenings, including<br>the surprisingly good conditions for the ARRL Ten Meter Contest; the lack of the<br>normal number of DX multipliers available in the CQWW CW DX Contest because <br>contest DXpeditioners were unable to travel to most DX locations due to the<br>Covid-19 pandemic; the fact that a few contest DXpeditions did nevertheless take <br>place including 8Q7ZO and 7Q6M.  <br><br>K3EW also reported that conditions had been quite good for the Straight Key<br>Century Club (SKCC) activity the previous weekend.  <br><br>It was decided that the next regular meeting of NCDXA would take place on<br>Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at 7:00 PM EST via ZOOM.<br><br>The meeting was adjourned at 7:57 PM.<br><br>Respectfully submitted,<br><br>Fred Laun, K3ZO<br>Secretary (Acting)<br>         </div></div>
