</div><div><br /></div><div>I'm happy to help, but I believe there are two items we (all the sorters) need to know first: what Fred's plan, ideas and suggestions were first. Likewise, all of his side deals with other bureaus, financial commitment and, how much space is required to handle/store the cards. The second one is to clarify the relationship of two NCDXA entities/ </div><div><br /></div><div>As I'm still working (no plans yet to retire), I don't have the time nor space to take a leadership role.
I will continue as the "Q" sorter and support the other functions as need be. </div><div><br /></div><div>My thought is to divide the various tasks required. I've listed the obvious ones. I'm sure there are others.
</div><div><br /></div><div>- Overall management of the bureau, including liaison with ARRL and foreign bureaus as Fred did.
</div><div><span>- Dealing with the post office to receive incoming cards, post cards to sorters and/or other bureaus, and house and sort them. </span></div><div>- Set up and maintain a standardized system that all the sorters will use (tracking and accounting software, universal methods of payment, etc.) </div><div><span>- Maintain the website and update as necessary. I'd like to see a public facing link for bureau users that would allow them to query a database that has of all the sorters records of how many cards and how much postage (credits or whatever units we choose) that individual has.</span></div>

We do not know what instructions Fred Laun left in his will concerning the future of the W3 Bureau. We all know how he cherished the Bureau and how it kept him going. We will not know for a month the contents of the will, but we need to do some planning prior to that information being made available.</div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:georgia,serif;font-size:small"><br /></div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:georgia,serif;font-size:small">We need a group , with members coming from both organizations addressed, to step forward and commit to running the Bureau. We need to ensure that the W3 Bureau stays under the umbrella of the NCDXA Club, which was just formed as a MD 501-C-7 organization.</div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:georgia,serif;font-size:small">If we don't get commitments from an ample group, we will lose the Bureau operational leadership . It will be picked up by either a local general Purpose Club, or by another DX club, such as NCDXA. </div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:georgia,serif;font-size:small"><br /></div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:georgia,serif;font-size:small">So, I am stepping forward and saying I will help to keep the Bureau running under NCDXA and dedicate my time and efforts to Fred's memory.
