<div dir="auto">I was a part of the team that nominated Gene W3ZZ for the contest HoF in 2020 and have some data points to consider:</div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">1. I will assume the contest and DX HoF’s operate similarly but of course this would need investigation.</div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">2. More than just a nomination of their name, a bio needs to be submitted. This needs careful attention and I’m not sure that’s feasible (or advisable) by a March 19 deadline this year. A small focused team might pull it off. </div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">3. The contest HoF was fair and not subject to (or appreciative of) tactics like organizing multiple nominations. They seem good at evaluating purely on the nominee’s merit.</div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">4. Despite this, they limit the number of annual awardees and that may mean that a nominee doesn’t make it on the first or second try. That’s not an indication that they aren’t qualified though, and the advice is to try and try again. And because the door only opens annually, this should probably be ‘owned’ by a club to assure a sustained effort.</div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">5. I suspect NCDXA might be the better option vs PVRC for a DX HoF nomination. But I’m not 100% sure how much that matters (see #3 above)</div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">I’m not in a position to captain such an effort due to work obligations but I do agree with the sentiment and suspect Fred would have a good chance of being chosen. </div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">73, Jay W3MMM</div><div><br><div class="gmail_quote"><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_attr">On Wed, Mar 1, 2023 at 10:29 AM Phillip Barsky via NCDXA <<a href="mailto:ncdxa@ncdxa.org">ncdxa@ncdxa.org</a>> wrote:<br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0.8ex;border-left-width:1px;border-left-style:solid;padding-left:1ex;border-left-color:rgb(204,204,204)"><div dir="ltr"><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:georgia,serif;font-size:small"><p style="margin-top:8px;padding-top:0px;margin-bottom:10px;padding-bottom:0px;font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;font-size:16px;background-color:rgb(255,255,248)"><b style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif">To all, I don't know if Fred is already in the Hall of Fame.
