Huber, a charter member of the Washington, D.C. area </span><br style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;"><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;">NCDXA, National Capital DX Association, has become a silent key. PVRC </span><br style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;"><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;">president K3ZO, Fred Laun, passed word to club members that Pete </span><br style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;"><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;">passed on October 26, at the age of 78. Pete had an interesting </span><br style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;"><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;">career, in the Architect of the (U.S.) Capitol\'s office, retiring in </span><br style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;"><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;">1994 after 36 years. I (KE3Q) remember Pete well, as one of the most </span><br style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;"><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;">active DXers from his modest tribander on a crankup station in my </span><br style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;"><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;">hometown (Bowie, Maryland). He was a mainstay of the 147.42 DX </span><br style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;"><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;">spotting frequency before the era of packetcluster and webcluster, </span><br style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;"><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;">chatting daily with K3WS and KA3DBN.
