I am personally shocked and saddened to learn that Rana is no longer with
us.
My wishes go out to his family in this difficult time.

On December 30th WB4NFO, Pradyumna S. Rana, of Alexandria, Virginia
passed away after succumbing to congestive heart failure. He was 76.
Rana as he was fondly remembered was born in 1938 in Nepal and went to
St. Xaviers School where he was a student of 9N1MM, Father Marshall D.
Moran. After school he began working for the American Embassy with
assignments in Nepal and India eventually immigrating to the US in
1965. Once in the States he "pursued technical studies in
electronics" and eventually obtained his Amateur Radio license, which
he no doubt was introduced by Father Moran. Rana worked for AT&T as a
telecommunication specialist and retired in 1990. NFO was a member of
the National Capital DX Association and had 335 confirmed in the ARRL
DXCC mixed standings. He operated from his birth/home country as
9N1NFO, 9N33 and 9N38 as well from Thailand as HS0ZBK. On a personal
note I have known Rana since I was a teenager and will always remember
him as a friendly and loving person. He really cared for his friends
and family.
