The June meeting of the National Capitol DX Association will be held
Saturday, June 18,
in conjunction with the annual Open House hosted by Frank Donovan, W3LPL at
his
Glenwood, MD QTH. The festivities begin at around noon and end around 4
PM. Participants
can arrive or leave at any time during that four-hour period. However,
those who plan
to attend the NCDXA meeting should plan to arrive by 1 PM. The meeting
will be called to
order around 1:30 PM depending on conditions at the moment. This schedule
is relatively
inflexible because the Potomac Valley Radio Club will also hold a meeting
at the event
as will the planning committee of the W3AO Field Day operation, and the
meetings are held
in succession so that members of both clubs can attend both meetings.

The weather is predicted to be sunny so members should plan to spend the
time outdoors.
This is a family event so spouses, significant others and children are
welcome to attend.
Please bring a folding lawn chair for each person attending, and remember
your hats and
sunscreen. Snacks and drinks are provided gratis by the generous host, and
a local
restaurant will have its food cart on the premises where a hot meal can be
purchased
between noon and 2 PM. It is probably a good idea to bring along some
bottled water
anyway as it may get hot.

Please park within the areas designated by the yellow tape.

The event is located at 3055 Hobbs Rd, Glenwood, MD. It is just a couple
of miles south
of the intersection of I-70 with Maryland Route 97. From the west come
through Frederick
east on I-70, from the north and east from Baltimore west on I-70, from DC
the fastest
route is via I-95 north to Maryland 32, though for some Maryland 97 north
may be more
direct. Use your GPS device or Google Maps when you get close. When you
see what looks
like an AM broadcaster's antenna array you are there.

Looking forward to seeing you-all Saturday!

73, Fred Laun, K3ZO
President
