I realize I was a bit off the mark -- not unusual for me, admittedly -- I
see this was about "transceivers," and I was not a "transceiver guy." From
my beginnings in ham radio, it was separates, tx and rx. After "those
years," when I bought my brand new Drake C-Line -- I loved how they worked
as separates ot "ganged" together as a transceiver, with the blue panel
lights switching from the one to the other depending which way you were
using it. Cool. And for some reason I acquired a TR4Cw, maybe as a
backup. And of course as time went by I did get a TS-940, TR-7, etc.
transceivers, with external VFO for split or with A/B VFOs built in, etc.
I just made "a special trip" up to my hamshack, not even remembering which
Collins S-Line models I have. The 32S-1 and 75S-1, so I guess the "bottom
of the line" of S-Lines, but good enough for me, they look and feel like
S-Lines.
