Hi Fred
I am sure you would enjoy either event. I have never been to the Top Band
Dinner. Since I have been attending Dayton, I decided to go to the SWODXA
DX Dinner instead. While I am much more of a contester than a DX'er, and my
DX'ing interests are primarily around 160M and 6M, you would think I would
go to the Top Band Dinner. But I believe that this event is attended by a
lot of the same folks who are at other contesting events such as Contest U,
The Contest Dinner and the Contest SuperSuite (all of which I attend). I
thought it might be nice to mix with a different group for that night. I
haven't regretted it. Some years the speakers are better than others, but
I am glad I was there to hear from Martin Jue of MFJ, Nigel Jolly (former
owner of The Braveheart of DXpedition fame), Ruth Willet, KM4LAO and the
late, lamented Dave Collingham, K3LP.
Not really trying to influence you, but take this for what it is worth. If
you decide to go, let me know and we can sit together if you like.
