MINUTES OF THE FEBRUARY 24 2022 MEETING OF THE
NATIONAL CAPITOL DX ASSOCIATION
The regular February meeting of the National Capitol DX Association (NCDXA)
was
held online using the video conferencing tool ZOOM.
Those in attendance included:
Everett Bollin WA3DVO
Rick Hambly W2GPS
Fred Laun K3ZO
Phil Barsky K3EW
John Kanode N4MM
Howard Sherer AE3T
Fred Matos W3ICM

Rick Murphy K1MU
Ed Kuebert K5EK

Brian Treadwell WV4V
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM EST by President K3ZO. Those
present
were asked to introduce themselves.
The minutes of the meeting of December 2021 had been posted online earlier
and
were accepted without change.
Treasurer K3EW reported that the treasury stood at $5201.58 as of this
meeting.
Vice President N4MM reported on ARRL matters. John commented that it had
taken a
long time for ARRL HQ to produce the Minutes of the January 2022 Board of
Directors (BOD) Meeting. During the years that John had served on the BOD
and
later as an ARRL Vice-President, the Minutes had been reported in a much
more
timely manner. There was some commentary to the effect that the Minutes of
this
meeting had been very lengthy because the BOD had chosen to update the way
Standing Orders are handled, and in the process had reviewed and eliminated
many
Standing Orders that were technically still in force but had long been
forgotten.
John and others noted with pleasure that the Sunspot Cycle 25 is continuing
its
rise and that conditions on the higher HF bands had improved substantially
as a
result. Some members are looking forward to the possibility that the 6
meter
band may eventually open regularly for DX.
Webmaster K1MU was asked to make any comments he might wish to make about
the
NCDXA Website. Rick reported that the site continued to operate without
problems. President K3ZO commended K1MU for the way he had the site and the
email reflector running so smoothly.
After discussion it was decided that the next regular meeting of NCDXA would
take place at 7:00 PM EDST on Thursday April 28 via ZOOM.
There being no further business, the formal meeting was adjourned at 7:20
PM,
followed by informal discussion by those present about DX matters.
Respectfully Submitted,
Alfred A. Laun, III, K3ZO
Secretary (Acting)
