Hello everyone,
I worked VK6JX on 80 FT8 on Tuesday sunrise.  We were in or very near the gray line, but I wasn't sure if it was gray line or direct.   So I sent him a message an he replied as copied below. Looks like the gray line is good at 0950-1030 Z from his end.

Hi Fred – lovely to meet you.
My pleasure. You were loud ! My SNR at your end was not so good at -13. I can only imagine the QRM and QRN at your end were driving my signal report closer to the toilet ! Much quieter down here. My Emtron DX-2SP tetrode amp is out for maintenance at present, so I was only running 700W carrier out from my VK3AMP LDMOS amp last night. I usually run double that from the Emtron.

It was GL at my end. Sunset here was 0955Z and I worked you at 1007Z. The US stations start appearing at around 0950Z, then drop off rapidly in strength at around 1030Z here. After that, it’s only JA and YB. From the looks of it, it was likely GL at your end, too ?

Please let me know if I can assist you with Zone 29 at any time. I have already gone through most of the bands with my Scottish mate John MM0JTV. If I’ll do it for a bloody sheep-shagging Scot, I’ll sure as hell do it for a US gentleman !!

Hope to see you soon on the other bands.
Best 73,
 John Sparkes VK6JX
